Education & Training in Aviation Meteorology
- Pursuant to ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) recommendations and the WMO (World Meteorological Organization) Technical Regulations (WMO-No. 258), AMO offers professional training for aeronautical meteorological personnel.
- The work training program consists of a beginner's course for entry-level and transferred employees, and an on-the-job training and expert course for existing employees. These courses help acquire technical expertise in aeronautical meteorology and on-the-job training in aeronautical meteorological observation and forecast.
- AMO offers a semiannual program entitled 'Program for Users of Aeronautical Meteorological Services' for aviation services personnel at scheduled airlines, non-scheduled airlines, air traffic control units, private air navigation businesses, and related government organizations. The program is further subcategorized according to users’ needs. The curriculum consists of aeronautical meteorological observation, forecast, analysis of satellite/radar images, the use of the aeronautical meteorological information system, etc., and focuses on developing participants’ ability in utilizing aeronautical meteorological products.
